Justin Timberlake at the TU Center

justin timberlake

Announced today: Justin Timberlake will be playing a concert at the TU Center July 16, 2014. Tickets go on sale next Monday (November 18) at 10 am -- they're $48 and up.

Back in the late 1990s if you had predicted that Justin Timberlake -- the guy from 'N Sync with the frosted tips who broke up with Britney Spears -- would end up being a hugely successful solo musical act and actor in 2013, it would have seemed unlikely. The trajectory post-boy band rarely takes such a successful direction. Yet here he is. And Timberlake has even ended up with a public persona that's kinda funny and likable.

WONDERFUL news!!!!!!!!!!

My friends and I have already put it on the calendar after a brief period of screaming and discussing ticket strategies....haha YAYYYY

It's funny, I spent at least a decade brushing him off until I heard him interviewed on Fresh Air a few years back. TOTALLY changed my perspective on this guy. Humble, down to Earth, intelligent, knowledge of music, funny... maybe he's not so bad after all!

...also....

I've realized that who "JT" is depends on your generation. It used to mean "James Taylor". But now, it means "Justin Timberlake".

Say Something!

We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. It amazes me that people still pin budgetary issues for old post-industrial upstate cities on individual mayors. This is a nationwide problem for all but the largest cities. But it's depressing that issues like getting vacant or dilapidated properties back on the tax rolls or making it easier for small businesses to open are being addressed and no one even notices. Given that, exactly what incentive is there for any politician to do anything? I'll give all the candidates a fair hearing, Sheehan included. But if we want to have any chance of fixing our problems, we really need to start acknowledging the progress we have made.
