OK, but don't change the neon sign

The site of Bob and Ron's Fish Fry in Albany is for sale. So what's up for the local institution? The fish fry's owners are aiming to raise money through the sale of the property to make over the business and perhaps expand, the Saint Rose Chronicle's Lolita Avila reports. Another factor, according to the owner: "The [property] taxes in Albany are not sustainable ... The taxes are more per month than I should be paying in a lease." I am sorry to hear that.
One of the radio stations gave away gift certificates for Bob & Ron's a few years ago by the truck load.
They are an area institution!
I loved their cheese burgers, fries, onion rings, and macaroni salad!
One time on Good Friday i asked them for a cheese burger
they were nice but, couldn't do it!

"buy our property! the taxes are really high so that's why we're selling it! oh--and the moneymaker on the site won't be a part of the sale!"

great marketing ploy!

Hey Rebecca have you ever heard of corporate tax breaks?? Big companies that would be interested in such a site as large as bob and Ron's would be entitled to them. New York gives our money away in the form of tax breaks in the billions look at Saratoga chip plant. Nothing to do with marketing

Its a shame since they have been an institution in Albany for a long time. The problem is less than 30% pay 100% of the city's taxes. St. Rose and Albany med continue to knock down tax payer properties without contributing anything. Albany housing authority, st. Peters, SUNY, nano tech, all the medical facilities along Washington ave ext., etc etc. I hope the new mayor can change things but until that point, I imagine others will be following Bob and Ron's.

Time for a commuter tax already!!

The Scoop

For a decade All Over Albany was a place for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. It was kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who could help you find out what's up. AOA stopped publishing at the end of 2018.
