Crossgates expansion plan

News to us: Crossgates is planning an extension to the mall on the Western Ave side, near the food court. The Spotlight's John Purcell reports the new section would include "two restaurants on the first floor and two 'entertainment venues' on the second floor." Also: A restaurant called World of Beer -- "a rapidly-expanding network of beer-centric taverns known for 500+ craft brews, craft spirits and Tavern Fare" -- is apparently planning to open at the mall at some point (this construction project bid page suggests it's going into a renovated space, not new construction). The chain recently opened a location in Syracuse. [Spotlight] [Construction Data Company] [Syracuse.com] [via @mfwren]

When you have 500+ "craft" beers in the mall, you've jumped the shark.

Must be where the Regal 12 was.
There was supposed to be a night club there when movie closed. Would love a nice Jewish deli on the level of The Carnegie Deli, or a French restaurant.

People still go to the mall? Why would anyone do that unless you work there?

There's a WOB in an outdoor mall here in SFL, get's a great crowd along with the three other bars there...Great place, don't think it'll work @ Crossgates, but good luck

I don't get it.
They just gutted former Macy's on Best Buy side turning it into an empty hallway, now they need more retail space?

Ominous blue rectangle.
Perhaps they should call it the Karner Blue wing.

The old Macys got turned into a hall way for the additions of the Brazil BBQ place and Lord& Taylor. The restaurant is supposed to open spring/ summer 2014. L&T fall 2014.

The Scoop

For a decade All Over Albany was a place for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. It was kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who could help you find out what's up. AOA stopped publishing at the end of 2018.
