Pond hockey tournament at Spa State Park

saratoga springs frozen classic pond hockey logoCould be fun: The Frozen Springs Classic -- a 4-on-4 pond hockey tournament -- is at Saratoga Spa State Park January 24-26. The entry fee is $375 per team, with a minimum of 4 players and max of 7. (There's also a $100 free agent entry.) The entry deadline is Friday (January 17).*

From the tournament rules page: "Games will take place on January 24th, 25th and 26th at the Saratoga Spa State Park. All games are played four-on-four, round robin style. Games shall be 40 minutes long consisting of two 20 minute halves with a 2 minute break between halves." And from a press release: "Games will be played behind the Gideon Putnam Hotel on pond rinks adjacent to Catherine's in the Park."

The tournament is being run by Townsquare Lifestyle Events, an arm of the Townsquare Media, which owns a cluster of radio stations in this area.
