Talk of UAlbany football stadium expansion -- already
The UAlbany athletics department is already talking about a $20 million expansion of Bob Ford Field, the 8,500-seat football stadium that opened this past fall, as it aims to raise the profile of the school's football team (which competes in the NCAA's second division), the Times Union's Pete Iorizzo reports. UAlbany's increasing emphasis on sports has prompted questions of whether the school should be focusing resources and attention in that area. An example: See Alain Kaloyeros' swipe at the school for spending money "on things that are not part of the core mission." [TU] [Buffalo News 2013 June]
