Compound
Filed away for another lifetime: This farmhouse "compound" in Chatham. "[F]armhouse and barn with 500 feet of Kinderhook Creek frontage in Chatham. The main house is stunning in and of itself: Modern touches blended seamlessly with rustic reminders of the past, screened-in porch, lots of windows, etc. But the real bonus here is the renovated 19th century barn that's included in the rent. It's 1600 square feet with an open floor plan, high ceilings, and a loft." [Upstater]

1.5 acres? Oh, please, that's no "compound."
And with 500 ft of creek frontage, it must be one skinny lot!

Someone should buy it and make it into a wedding reception venue. The house would be rented out as part of the contract, so the bridal party could stay there too!
Or, just rent it for the week and host your wedding there yourself!
