March Madness for Catalon

Just back from calling curling at the Olympics in Sochi, former WNYT sportscaster Andrew Catalon is joining the CBS lineup of play-by-play announcers for the NCAA men's basketball tournament next month. Catalon, who's still an Albany area resident, will be calling second and third round games of the tournament (what most people still call the first and second round). As sportscasting jobs go, this is a pretty sweet one. (Check out the rest of the CBS lineup of announcers in that second link -- most of them are play-by-play royalty.)

He was great at the Curling thing; I really enjoyed his commentary. Great to see him moving up to the big-time; local boy made good, as they say!
