Standing on the Hudson
Remember that bit a week or two ago about ice yachting on a part of the Hudson River south of here that was frozen solid? Intrigued by the idea -- and curious about what it's like to walk on the frozen Hudson River -- Jill Adams went to Barrytown to check it out, and wrote about the experience: "As we left the busy-ness around the boats, the vastness of the river felt more, well, vast. The wind was still, the sun was shining, the air was warm and quiet. A sense of glee took over as I realized I was standing in a place that normally didn't exist.
