A few bucks for books sold as bytes
Why you might be getting a credit from Amazon, B&N, Apple or other ebook sellers: attorneys general from multiple states -- including New York -- announced a $166 million will five major publishers accused of "anticompetitive activity in the E-book industry." So many people who bought ebooks between April 1, 2010 and May 21, 2012 are getting some money back, in most cases as a credit (Amazon FAQ).
