Connecticut, for the win

A Niskayuna woman finished fourth -- out of more than a million entries -- in the NCAA's men's basketball tournament bracket challenge this year, correctly picking all the Final Four teams and UConn to win the whole thing. Said Joan Mack, a former Connecticut resident, to the Gazette's Mark McGuire of her strategy: "The first thing I did when I went to fill out the grid -- what is it called? -- the bracket, was look for Connecticut. I knew nothing about the seeds. I knew nothing about statistics. I just looked at Connecticut and picked them to go all the way." [Daily Gazette]
