We're inching our way back toward something that feels like springtime, so hang in there. Between Easter and Passover the list of stuff to do is a little thinner than usual, but there's plenty going on. Check out our list after the jump. Wordfest/Invitational Poetry Slam
Albany Wordfest wraps up this weekend with a poetry open mic at UAG on Friday and an invitational poetry slam at The Linda on Saturday.

Taste Of Upstate Wine, Food & Music Festival
Friday-Saturday: The Taste of Upstate is this weekend in Saratoga Springs. The event includes wine, food, music and art from around Upstate New York. On Friday there's an Americana/folk/bluegrass show at the Canfield Casino with three Upstate New York-based bands and on Saturday the Saratoga City Center is hosting a grand tasting with more than a dozen wineries from around Upstate New York, plus upstate distilleries, breweries and food producers. Friday's concert starts at 7 pm - tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door | the grand tasting is noon to 6 pm on Saturday - tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door

Stars On Ice
Friday: Olympic figure skating stars perform in Stars on Ice at the Times Union Center. Friday 7:30 pm - $28 and up

Easter egg exhibit
More than 5,000 elaborately hand-decorated Easter eggs are on display this weekend in Schoharie. It's the first time the display as been open to the public in a decade. From a description (link added):

The Mildred Vrooman Easter Egg Exhibit in Schoharie includes elaborate egg-based scenes that feature backdrops and accessories made of materials such as costume jewelry, fur, shell, ribbons, and lace. The painted faces of the egg people demonstrate the artistic talent of Schoharie's former library director and Easter egg designer Mildred Vrooman, who died in 2012 at age 103, and her late friend Elizabeth Warner.

The exhibit is a benefit for the rebuilding of the Schoharie Free Library from damage done by Irene. Friday and Saturday 10 am to 5 pm / Sunday noon-5 pm - $10 family, $5 individual

Bring It On: The Musical
Friday-Saturday: Bring it On: The Musical , the stage musical based on the cheerleading movie of the same name is at Proctors. Friday at 8pm and Saturday at 2pm and 8pm - $20 and up

Boeing, Boeing
Home Made Theater presents the comedy Boeing Boeing, a farce about how an improved, faster Boeing jet interferes with the romantic life of a swinging 60s bachelor involved with three stewardesses. Friday & Saturday 8 pm - $23/$26

The Price
Curtain Call Theater presents Arthur Miller's The Price, a drama about the price we pay for decisions. Friday and Saturday at 8pm, Sunday at 3pm - $23

Comedy

Theatersports
Friday: The Mop & Bucket Company is back at Proctors Underground on Friday night with a new season of TheaterSports -- in which teams of improvisors compete based on audience suggestions. (Think Whose Line is it Anyway?) Friday at 8pm - $14 / $6 students and seniors.

Film

Knickerbocker Film Festival
Friday: The Knickerbocker Film Festival officially opens next week in Albany, but there's a sneak preview in Troy Friday night. Selected films will be screened and filmmakers will be onhand for a panel discussion at The Arts Center of the Capital Region. Friday 7 pm -- An opening night reception is scheduled Lucas Confectionery following the event.

Spandex Zappin' Party
Saturday: It Came From Schenectady presents the Kiss movie Attack of the Phantoms at Proctors. They'll also be screening Spandex Zappin' Party, a mash up of hair band outtakes. There will be prizes, themed drinks and other surprises. Saturday at 7 pm - $9 / $6 for students

"So let it be written, so let it be done"
Regal Cinema in Crossgates is screening Cecil B. DeMille's 1956 three-and-a-half-hour epic The Ten Commandments, starring Charlton Heston and Yule Brenner. Rotten Tomatoes calls it "Bombastic and occasionally silly but extravagantly entertaining." Sunday 2 pm - $9

Superstar/Stripes
+ This weeks Saturday/Sunday morning Cine Classic at The Bow Tie in Saratoga Springs is the Andrew Lloyd Webber rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar. Saturday & Sunday 11 am.

+ The Insomnia theater film at the Saratoga Springs Bow Tie this week is Bill Murray's, Stripes. Friday and Saturday at 11:30 pm

Nicholsonfest
The Madison is screening three films with Jack Nicholson this weekend: Chinatown, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, and Easy Rider.

Jules at Eight/How to Grow a Band
The Saratoga Film Forum is screening two films about young musicians:
+ Jules at Eight , a documentary about the career of jazz/blues guitarist Julian Lage, who began playing at the age of 8.
+ How to Grow a Band, following the story of Chris Thile and the creation of the Punch Brothers. Saturday 7:30 pm - $7

Drive-in
The season to watch movies in the comfort of your own vehicle has arrived. The Hollywood Drive-In opens this weekend with screenings of Rio and Son of God. 7:50 pm - $9 adults, $5 ages 5-10

Hockey
Saturday: The Albany Devils play at the TU Center. It's fan appreciation night. Saturday 5 pm - $13.50 and up.

Baby animals
The baby animals are now at Hancock Shaker Village. There are also behind-the-scenes farm tours, which tend to sell out ahead of time (so schedule ahead).

Museums

Canstruction
The annual Canstruction exhibit is continues this weekend at the NYS Museum. Sculptures are built out of cans of food that will be donated to The Food Pantries of The Capital District.

Ansel Adams: Early Works
This is the last weekend for the Ansel Adams exhibit at The Hyde Collection.

Butterflies
The indoor butterfly house at miSci closes on Saturday. The museum is closed this Sunday for Easter.

Farmers' markets
Corrected We're into the last few weekends for indoor markets: Troy (Saturday at the Atrium) and Saratoga (Saturday at the Lincoln Baths in Spa State Park). The Schenectady Greenmarket, and the Spa City Farmers Market -- are off this weekend because of Easter.

Troy Music Hall, Proctors, miSci and MopCo advertise on AOA. And AOA is a media sponsor of the Knickerbocker Film Festival.
