I went to the UAlbany website for the Michael Hayden talk. The registration seems to emphasize having an association with the University (Student, employee, alumni, etc). Is this open to the public?

@Andrew: It was my understanding that it was, but I'll double check.

@Andrew: I talked with a representative from Rockefeller and it's only open to the members of the university community -- UAlbany students, faculty, alumni, and friends of the university.
I just misinterpreted the event listing. My mistake. Sorry about that.

Thanks for the link to the "Seeing What You're Missing" lecture. I'm definitely going to go, and hopefully it will be eye-opening!
Hearing about this from AoA made me wonder what other interesting things go on at UAlbany that we might not know about.
The Writers' Institute announces their schedule of visiting authors and film screenings to the community, but I never knew about this Falconer Lecture series, which is presented by the Atmospheric Sciences Research Center at UA.
From the schedule, it looks like they have quality programs. The last lecture was about forecasting extreme weather, including tornadoes (how timely), and the upcoming one on May 6 is titled "Rapid Arctic warming and increased extreme weather in mid-latitudes: are they connected?"
These sound interesting and informative, presented by experts in the field (from around the globe), and free to attend. Wow, why not take advantage, now that we know?!
Thanks for the heads-up, AoA.
