Neutral Milk Hotel at Brewery Ommegang

neutral milk hotel

Indie rock band Neutral Milk Hotel is scheduled to play a show at Brewery Ommegang September 6. Tickets are on sale -- they're $36 ($51 with camping).

Neutral Milk Hotel's In the Aeroplane Over the Sea, released in 1998, is one of the most influential indie rock albums of all time. While it did OK when first released, and its reputation has risen over time, it's the sort of album that probably had a big effect not so much because of how many people bought it or listened to it, but who listened to it -- and the bands they'd end up forming. Its influences have popped up in all sorts of acts over the last decade plus. (Arcade Fire is a prominent example.)

Modest Mouse is May 23 and May 24 (not June 23/24)...

Editors: Erf. Fixed. Thanks.

Can't wait can't wait can't wait.

If you have any interest in seeing them live and haven't yet, you should jump at this opportunity. It's very unlikely that they'll ever release anything new as Neutral Milk Hotel. They played baaaasically no shows from 1998 to 2011. Then the last three years have been constant touring - first as Jeff Mangum solo and now NMH as a band. Once this giant tour is over, I wouldn't be surprised if he disappears for another decade or so...

Great Neutral Milk Song!

Jamie, some of the best lyrics in any song! I keep a line from this song in a tiny frame by my front door. I hope there are still tickets...

I'm listening to them now. Makes me think of one of my favorite bands, The Decemberists. Like!

We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.
