A good trainer for people with medical issues?

Albany Strength gym.jpgAmelia emails:

My friend is looking for a personal trainer in the capital region that deals with individuals with training people with medical issues like insulin resistance or other medical conditions. Anyone know of a personal trainer in the area who is holistic and understanding? Thanks.

Got suggestion for Amelia and her friend? Please share.

She needs a medically oriented gym, unfortunately there are none around here. Try a PT practice that has gym equipment.

I agree. A Physical Therapist will be able to assess your needs and set you up on a program that you could do at home or in a gym setting. You would need to get a script from your physician. I would recommend St. Peter's PT and Fitness in Slingerlands.

+3, and I would recommend Albany Med Outpatient Physical Therapy (especially Jason Gagnon), located 618 Central Ave, they have helped me greatly.

I had the pleasure of experiencing protected bike lanes in Montreal recently. It really made for a fast, efficient way to move both bike & car traffic. As a biker, it was easy to see how to navigate a busy road, and it was nice to have a bit of buffer/safety from traffic (or just knowing that the possibility of a car swerving in to you was incredibly low because of these features). As a driver, it was nice to see all of the bikes in one area, so that you don't have the errant biker who decides to blow through most of the traffic signals the wrong way down a street.
