Where to rent a passenger van?

car steering wheelEva emails:

I'm looking to rent a 7+ passenger van for 24 hours. Everything I'm looking at is too fancy - it just needs to be functional for short-distance transportation, not the newest Dodge SUV. Ideally I would like this to be a recurring rental (once or twice a month), so I'm hoping to find someone reliable. Any leads?

We're curious if there are options beyond the typical rental companies.

UHaul rents vans.

Hertz Equipment Rental 3 Avis dr Latham,NY 783-4598 they rent up to 15 passenger vans and cargo vans I don't know think there are many options other than typical rental companies a taxi would be outrageous expensive an I don't think Zip Car has anything like that.

Rent a minivan from any car rental company. 7-8 passenger depending on make of van.

Not to just rent a van, but if need a van with a reliable driver, contact Frank of Excel Car & Driving Service at 518-378-7595. He is good, and the price is reasonable.

Universities are sometimes willing to rent their vans; if anyone in your group is a student or employee at one of the local colleges, check that out.

The Scoop
