Capital Holiday Lights in the Park continues for one more week.

If you're not already occupied by parties, visits and holiday entertaining, you may be looking for something to do this weekend.

We've wrapped up a few ideas with some virtual ribbon and they're waiting for you after the jump.

Elf
Friday-Sunday: A touring production of the Broadway show version of Elf is at Proctors. It's based on the movie of the same name:

Unaware that he is actually human, Buddy's enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth. With Santa's permission, Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father, discover his true identity, and help New York remember the true meaning of Christmas.

It continues at Proctors Friday-Sunday. various times - $20 and up

Comedy

Comedy's Best Kept Secret Tour
Saturday: The Comedy's Best Kept Secret show is at Proctors. National Comedians Dan Frigolette, Matt Richards, and Erik Anker will be joined by Ethan Ullman and Sam Gorenstein. Saturday 8 pm - $15

Kids Close Up Comedy Magic and Stunts
Saturday: Proctors presents a family friendly comedy and magic show with upside down skateboard riding, hypnosis, juggling and more. Saturday 6-7:30 pm - $10

Kwanzaa Celebration
Friday: The New York State Museum is hosting a Capital Kwanzaa celebration on the fourth floor terrace, with an African Marketplace, kids activities, a drum circle and performers. Friday 5-9 pm - free

Capital Holiday Lights in the Park
The Capital Holiday Lights in the Park continue in Washington Park for one more week (January 3 is the last day). Friday and Saturday at 6-10 pm / Sunday 6-9 pm - $15 per vehicle

Museums
Got people in town and need to take them somewhere? Got a few days off and you're looking for something to do? The Albany Institute, miSci (the train exhibit is still up), the State Museum (check out the new Shaker exhibit), The Clark (new building!) MASS MoCA, The Arkell, The Hyde Collection, and the Baseball Hall of Fame are all open this weekend.

Ice skating

Empire State Place
Bundle up and take a spin around the ice skating rink at the Empire State Plaza. The rink is open 11 am-8 pm daily, though it will be closed for maintenance this Friday. Skating is free. Skate rentals are $4 / $3 for kids under 12.

Swinburne Park
The city of Albany rink at Swinburne Park is now open for the season. (see the link for hours)

Hockey
Saturday: The Albany Devils face off against Springfield at the TU Center. Saturday 5 pm - $15-$27

Hoops
Sunday: The Siena men's basketball team takes on Bucknell at the TU Center. Sunday 2 pm - $12 and up

Music

Friday: Holiday Hangover Fest at The Low Beat
Slowshine, Better Pills, Russel the Leaf. 8 pm

Saturday: Rustic Overtones + Dryer at Putnam Den
Dryer has some bad news about Santa. 9:30 pm - $10

Saturday: Guy Davis at Caffe Lena

Farmers' Markets
Winter farmers' markets continue indoors:
+ The Troy Waterfront Farmers Market will be in the Troy Atrium in downtown Troy Saturday from 9 am-2 pm.
+ The Saratoga Farmers' Market will be at the Lincoln Baths on Saturday from 9 am-1 pm.
+ The Schenectady Greenmarket will be inside Proctors on Sunday from 10 am-2 pm.
+ The Spa City Farmers' Market will be in Lincoln Baths Sunday from 10 am-3 pm.

Siena advertises on AOA. And AOA is a media sponsor of the ESP ice skating rink.

In regard to the Lights in the Park... does anyone know if you are still able to walk through the display, and at no charge? I recall being able to do this a few years ago, but it seems like there are only certain nights you can do it now. Looking for some clarification.
