So... that's a no?

Andrew Cuomo to the Syracuse Post-Standard editorial board, on requests for state aid to fix infrastructure in upstate cities: "You are unsustainable. You need jobs, an economy, business. ... Show us how you become economically stronger and create jobs ... Then you fix your own pipes." Last year Syracuse mayor Stephanie Miner proposed plans for a Syracuse Billion -- like the Buffalo Billion -- that included hundreds of millions for fixing the city's water mains. Thanks Andy. Shall we assume you are working on reducing the cost of doing business in New York (http://www.cnbc.com/id/101694031)? Or are you preoccupied picking winners with STARTUP-NY and the regional economic grants/Shark Tank/Hunger Games shows you like to put on...

Ah, well, I'm glad that's out of the way. We can now get back to the business of government -- which is 'creating jobs'.

I was under the impression that he is not usually so blunt. Perhaps he just really dislikes Miner.

"New York, you are unsustainable. You need jobs, an economy, business...show us how you become economically stronger and than you can fix your own pipes and roads" --President Obama in response to Cuomo begging for cash from the feds for everything under the sun from Tappen Zee reconstruction to utilizing storm relief money to rebuild infrastructure. Oh wait, dang, he never said that did he, and the fed's indeed have provided tons of cash to help out. Guess we have a case of the pot calling the kettle black here then.

Don't look up the definition of narcissism. Just follow the governor's political ethos.

This rhetoric doesn't really add up when you see Cuomo going out of his way to spend billions on another Upstate city (Buffalo) and doing everything he can to help out there. This seems to have alot to do with that many big time Cuomo donors happen to be from Buffalo (like the guy who owns the Bills).

On the other hand, a large part of the reason why Cuomo has been so nasty towards Syracuse is due to the personal vendetta he seems to have held towards the town after Mayor Stephanie Minor dared to publicly express doubts about his ridiculous pension smoothing plan for local governments that came up a few years ago. It's pretty sad that the entire Syracuse area has been passed over for economic development plans and initiatives (like the expansion of nanotech) in favor of other Upstate cities for no real reason other than that Cuomo still holds a grudge against the mayor due to a silly policy dispute that barely anyone remembers had even taken place.

Doubt it.......
