Monday-Sunday: Restaurant week returns in Schenectady this week with a bunch of restaurants offering three-course meals for $20.15. Reservations are a good idea.

Monday: The Palace is hosting its annual Three Stooges Film Festival. Six of the Stooges' films are on this year's slate. Monday 7 pm - $5 / $3 kids

Local film
Thursday: The Albany Institute is hosting a night of work from local film and video artists from the Capital Region and Hudson Valley. Thursday 6 pm - free

Arts and sciences

Mobilizing people to stop environmental crises
Tuesday: Author/NYU professor Jennifer Jacquet will be at UAlbany as part of the NYS Writers Institute visiting writers series. Jacquet is an environmental social scientist, and will be talking about her new book Is Shame Necessary?. Event blurbage:

In her new book, Is Shame Necessary? New Uses for an Old Tool (2015), she argues that shame, used judiciously, is a powerful force of political change and social reform. Her recommendations go far beyond traditional collective and consumer action (eating sustainable seafood, for example). Rather, she advocates a broader strategy of shaming corporations and governments into embracing more responsible behavior.

The Supreme Court and civil rights
Wednesday: Saint Rose political scientist/writer Scott Lemieux will be talking about his research on the Supreme Court of the United States and the enforcement of civil rights. Wednesday 6 pm, Lally School of Education (1009 Madison Avenue) - free

Pork belly
Tuesday: 677 Prime's Jaime Ortiz will be at Different Drummer's Kitchen for a class about pork belly. "Ortiz will prepare several delicious pork belly dishes and explain how to prepare this trendy treat at home." Tuesday 6 pm - $69
