Over at the Daily Gazette there's an interesting article by Kyle Adams about the Schoharie County auxiliary police unit known as the "Tac-Force" -- a group of volunteers who assist with traffic and crowd control -- especially in light of recent attention around the nation on the militarization of police. The Schoharie County Sheriff has been rolling back some of the unit's gear, such as bulletproof vests, and the county Board of Supervisors has disarmed the unit. Members tell Adams they might not serve if they're not allowed to carry guns. [Daily Gazette]
