Ratios
Here's an interesting look at some numbers related to how hard (or easy) it might be find someone to date in places around the country. Thomaz Santana used Census data and data scraped from the Plenty of Fish dating site to calculate a "singles ratio" and a "dating ratio." The numbers point to the Capital Region core being about average compared to the rest of the nation, with the exception of Saratoga County which was rated somewhat easier for women to find men. And that last part highlights once of the limitations of the analysis -- it doesn't take into account sexual orientation. Santana discusses some of those issues, which as much as anything, provides some insight into why these sorts of rankings should be taken with a grain of salt. [via FiveThirtyEight]
