FYI, July 15th the band's name is "Big Eyed PHISH" not "fish"

Why haven't they changed the name yet to rockin' on the asphalt? Put the music in the park where it belongs. I know, I know... it's all about the beer sales.

They removed all the trees from that park and there is zero shade. If you want to talk about rocking on the pavement and melting into the ground then yes, move it to the park. Very bad planning and execution in that park and it has very limited usefulness. It's a beautiful spot but needs shade.

I agree ace! the park should be the place for Rocking on the river. Shade? where is the shade in the parking lot?? ohh on the over crowded 10 x12 deck at Ryans Wake? Its summer, deal with it

Who does this booking? Pretty much the same as last year. Very safe. And enough with the tribute bands. ENOUGH!!!!

And the local bands. Same. They are all good, but gets a little stale seeing the same ones year after year. There are other real good bands but I can only assume that noone is willing to take the risk. Wimps!! or maybe the budget is real low and good bands are not affordable.

Rock n roll is risky, always has been. Rock n roll is original, these bands are not. Rock n roll is sexy, these bands surely are not.

Nothing here that will get me to drive to Troy for a show.

Rustic freaking Overtones will not disappoint!

I love rockin on the river, better bands than albany, smaller lines and cheaper prices for beer and wine and with the new mayor in Albany im sure things are going to get strict, she dont like people having fun.And for those complaining about the no shade in troy, the old saying,if you cant take the heat stay out of the kitchen.

I prefer the music in the park. Not much shade but lots more room move, dance or just sit on the grass enjoy my takeout dinner and cooler full of iced tea (for the kids) and libations (for the grown ups)...all at the nice price---FREE!!
So stop whining everyone and come enjoy the free music! You know you will out there singing Stairway to Heaven with everyone else! :)

I would like to see some different bands, maybe an Irish band, not so many tribute groups. It's always a good time!

I agree with previous comments about too many tribute bands but you cant complain when it's free!

We need a cultured diversity in the type of music that is played. As a community that have many cultures and the music is wonderful. I have conducted, promoted, and booked many latin and black american shows and many of those who come and welcomed with opened arms are white american. We are all one race but with many and different tastes. Let our cultured and food in this venue and you will see the unity it brings. My number is 518-590-1632.

Say Something!

We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.
