"The deer just munch, munch, munch"

There might be as many 1 million deer in New York State, and they've been so prolific -- and hungry -- that the Buffalo News reports biologists are worrying that the herds are literally eating the next generations of trees, and knocking forest ecosystems out of balance. (The deer population in the state is so robust that hunters routinely kill approximately 240k of them each year -- and the population keeps growing.) [Buffalo News] [NYS DEC] [via @AndyArthur]
