The score
Another example of how companies use scores related to credit: WalletHub reports that auto insurance premiums can vary widely based on a person's credit -- in a small test it ran against the major insurers, it found an insurance premium in New York varied by 42 percent between a person with excellent credit and a person with no credit. And that was slightly below the national average of 49 percent. (Here's a bit more about the use of "credit-based insurance scores" that are sort, but not exactly, like a credit score.)
