Over at the Saratogian Paul Post checks in with Winney's Farm about the freak hail storm that did serious damages to the farm's extensive blueberry fields. (You might have noticed the note about the damage in this year's PYO blueberry listing.) The story puts in perspective in some of the hard realities of being a farmer -- a 15-minute storm can wipe out almost an entire crop. Bonus bit: Winney's, which is known for its many different varieties of blueberries, has about 50,000 blueberry bushes. [Saratogian]
