Lights on
Vital Vio is one of the Capital Region's most interesting startups. The Troy-based company (they've worked out of space at the Tech Valley Center of Gravity) is developing LED light fixtures that the company says can kill bacteria using a very specific wavelength of light (while not causing harm to people). And, the Biz Review's Chelsea Diana reports, Vital Vio is now deploying the fixtures in hospitals and other buildings, including St. Peter's in Albany. [Biz Review]

VitalVio uses light with wavelength of 400-420 nm. While technically it's considered "visible" light you can't really see it.
So all this company does is exploit a loophole in scientific terminology while selling overpriced UV lamps.
