Genealogy Day at Schenectady County Historical Society
The Schenectady County Historical Society's annual Genealogy Day is October 3, and it will be offering a series of workshops about how to use local historical resources to research family history (or just indulge your inner history nerd). Blurbage:
Our annual Genealogy Day is a great way for family history researchers -- from beginners to experts -- to learn more about where and how to find information, to share stories with other researchers, and to have time to use resources in our Grems-Doolittle Library. This event will feature four speakers on various topics of genealogy along with open research time in our library.
The workshop topics include using the Albany County Hall of Records; using wills, deeds, and marital records; and using the New York State Library. (There's a schedule at that link above.)
The various talks are from 9 am-4 pm on Saturday, October 3 at the Schenectady County Historical Society (32 Washington Ave in Schenectady). It's $5 to attend.
