Capitol Hauntings Halloween day tour
Update: The tours are now full, according to the OGS registration website.
The state Office of General Services has added two more of the very popular Capitol Hauntings tours for Saturday, October 31 (yep, Halloween) at 1 pm and 3 pm.
It's rare for this tour to be offered on a Saturday, and the time slots will probably be full by the end of today -- so if you'd like to go, do not wait to sign up. The tours are free, but you must pre-register.
Tour blurbage:
In tales that mix history with the macabre, tour guides will tell shocking stories about the night watchman who died in the Capitol fire of 1911 and still makes his rounds and the two United State presidents who visited the Capitol after they died.
Find out where the Assembly Chamber's "lost" murals are located and what happened to the tormented artist who created them. Walking among the gargoyle-like carvings and strange carved faces, visitors will discover the location of the Capitol's "secret demon" and evidence of a curse the demon may hold on the Capitol will be revealed, along with other dark secrets.
The tour has been offered week days all this month, and prior to the Halloween day tours being posted, all the remaining tour dates were full except for just a few slots.
