History friends

We saw this today and thought you might enjoy it: Friends of Albany History -- a Facebook page (and more?) -- that's collecting various local history bits, documents, images, and whatnot. (And, of course, there's also the Albany... the way it was FB group and Flickr stream.) [via Paula]

Thanks for shout out. We're trying to collect the best of the Albany citizen bloggers and tweeters, including AoA, as well as tell stories people may not know, in one place where people are most likely to see. If people respond, it may be first step in forming a city historical society. Albany doesn't have one, and there are some folks who think there is a need, since we are very building centric in our history telling, and tend to overlook some great stuff. But for starters, we need to synthesize all bits and pieces, and get word out in a more comprehensive way about all the great history events, lectures, etc. in Albany.
