Stuff to do this weekend

Tim Hecker is at EMPAC this weekend

We're ticking down the days until Thanksgiving, so shopping, travel, and menu plans may be on your mind this weekend. But don't forget to celebrate the here and now -- otherwise known, in this case, as the weekend.

After the jump we've pulled together all kinds of pre-holiday goodness for you to enjoy -- from movies and shows to a cider pressing party to cooking classes and day trips.

Pick your favorites and make some plans. Got something in mind that you don't see here? Drop it in the comments for everyone to see.

And whatever you're up to, have a fantastic weekend!

A evening of music, poetry and dance to benefit Love146! The heart of this event is to share our talents in an effort to celebrate the intrinsic value and dignity of a child's life. Love146 is an international human rights organization working to end child trafficking and exploitation through survivor care and prevention.

"We're working to prevent child trafficking & exploitation, care for survivors, and empower a growing movement. Love is the foundation of our motivation."

Kathleen Luster Bowman will be performing two works of classical solo cello, accompanied by dancer, Christy Williams. They're joined by poet, Barbara Ungar and Love146's creative director, Merilyn Murray in a program to shed light on a need that is global in scale, yet close at home even here in Saratoga Springs.
