Coloring night -- for adults -- Schenectady County Public Library
The Schenectady County Public Library is hosting a coloring night for adults on the second Wednesday of each month staring next week (January 13). Blurbage:
Tons of recent research suggests that coloring is one of the best ways for adults to reduce stress and relax! We will have relaxing music, stunning patterns, coloring markers & pencils, and hot drinks while we enjoy a peaceful hour of coloring. Sorry kids, this program is for ages 14 and up only!
It's free to attend, and the library will also provide free coloring materials. As the library's Doug Bixler said to us in an email: "People only need to bring themselves and a fun attitude! We provide the rest."
Here's a quick piece over at the The Atlantic last fall about the almost meditative aspect of coloring, and the recent popularity of the activity with adults. (The coloring books for adults are a bit more detailed and intricate than the ones for kids).
The adult coloring nights at the SCPL are at the central library on Clinton Street in Schenectady in the McChesney Room. They start at 6:30 pm. They're the second Wednesday of each month through May.
Say Something!
We'd really like you to take part in the conversation here at All Over Albany. But we do have a few rules here. Don't worry, they're easy. The first: be kind. The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.
