Something to listen to/watch: A video for "Freedom" by Taina Asili y La Banda Rebelde, featuring Michael Reyes.
Asili is an Albany-based musician and activist who's involved with the local campaign against mass incarceration. The song is an outgrowth of that work.
The video also stars local poet and activist Amani Olugbala, and features a handful of locations in Albany and Troy.
For a decade All Over Albany was a place for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. It was kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who could help you find out what's up. AOA stopped publishing at the end of 2018.
