Oh boy oh boy!

I'd have to say a night time stroll around the Empire State Plaza. We don't have any romantic vistas like the movies' with a drive up lot over a shimmering city below, but we do have a fantastic place to stop and look out over downtown and there's this great feeling that the plaza is a well kept secret for lovers out for a walk at night.

My husband and I like getting dessert from Ayelada or Control Tower and watching the planes take off and land at Albany airport at night

My favorite romantic spot in the capital region with my husband is packing a picnic and going to the track.

My apartment! Cozy and serene.

Rt 4 in East Greenbush. By the hotel near the Target/Walmart has a gorgeous view of Albany skyline. Best at night.

Washington Park - it's where my husband proposed!

I love Thacher Park for many events, but it's definitely a place I find romantic as well.

Having a hill in Washington Park to yourselves

By the Corning Tower and the Egg...it's a symbolic paring wink wink...

The wine bar on lark in its many guises!

Gotta say Lucas Confectionery. The atmosphere is just right.

I had a wonderful dinner with my (at the time) future wife once at The Wine Bar in Saratoga. We celebrated our engagement there, and they were gracious enough to hold a table for us next to the fireplace on a very busy evening. My wife mentions it to this day as one of the most romantic meals we've had together.

My favorite romantic place in the Capitol Region is the Speakeasy under City Beer Hall. We dress a little nicer, speak a little softer, and avoid the usual distraction of cell phones and televisions.

Talented jazz musicians play brassy notes, as tea candles toss dramatic shadows the walls and glassware. Velvet-upholstered couches, suspendered bartenders, and potent, but tailored-to-your liking cocktails all provide the perfect backdrop to allow you to focus your attention on the one you're with and great conversation.

Watching the sunset on the back patio at Ryan's Wake overlooking the Hudson River on a beautiful day in the summer.

A picnic near Lake Myosotis and the nearby waterfalls...

The rose garden in Schenectady's Central Park is pretty romantic.

A stroll through Congress Park in Saratoga.

The Crooked Lake House in West Sand Lake is one of my favorite places for a Romantic Dinner:)

Our go to romantic spot is the gastropub in albany. Great atmosphere, food and drinks!

Washington Park

Kim Klopstock's Fifty South in Ballston Spa! It feels cozy and intimate, and they do such AMAZING farm to table food and the wine list is great. We loved it so much they catered our wedding.

A nice dinner at Peck's Arcade in Troy

The last empty car on Amtrak, returning from the Battery Park fireworks in NYC (in 1982) to the Rensselaer station. Our "Risky Business" romantic event!

Christman sanctuary by the waterfall. On a nice snowy day there's a good chance you'll have it to yourself a little while

Yono's restaurant.

For me it's Lucas Confectionery. Love it there.

Anywhere as long as my lover's hand is in mine.

Yado is the place!

It used to be downstairs at the old Dailey inn
Carl

The Empire Plaza Ice Skating rink:)

Walking through the empire plaza at night! the lighting is so lovely, and you feel like you have a [concrete] world to yourself

Cohoes Falls is surprisingly romantic during all seasons!

Grafton State Park

New World Bistro - They know how to make you feel special and there is a meal/drink to fit every occasion.

Washington Park on a Tuesday evening when tulips are blossomed.

Skating at the Plaza followed by a cozy dinner by the fire at Lark and Lily.

Basement bar at Elbo Room!

The waterfalls at the Huyck Preserve.

Caffe Italia!

The Scoop
