Proctors is showing The Revenant this week on the big screen in the GE Theater. The film won Oscars this year for best actor (Leo DiCaprio), best director (Alejandro Iñárritu), and cinematography (Emmanuel Lubezki). It was also nominated for best picture. various days and times - $5
Midnight Cowbowy
Monday: The Palace's movie series is showing Midnight Cowboy, the 1969 drama starring Dustin Hoffman and Jon Voight. It won three Oscars, including best picture. Monday 7 pm - $5

Tuesday: The Front Parlor storytelling series returns to The Ale House in Troy. This month's theme: money. Tuesday 7:30 pm
History
Tour of the Stephen & Harriet Myers Residence
Tuesday: History Albany Foundation is hosting a tour of the Stephen & Harriet Myers Residence in Albany. They Myers were agents for Albany's node in the Underground Railroad. And they helped hundreds of people escape slavery. Tuesday 5:30 pm - $10 (registration required)
Albany Ale
Wednesday: Beer historian Craig Gravina will be at the Albany Institute to talk about Albany's brewing history as part of the museum's 1791 Club series. The evening will start at the Capital Region in 50 Objects exhibit, and then head over to a local venue for happy hour. Wednesday 5:30 pm - $10 admission

Tuesday: UNC-Charlotte professor of religious studies Sean McCloud will be at Skidmore to talk about his recently published book American Possessions: Fighting Demons in the Contemporary United States. Blurbage: "In this talk, Dr. McCloud will focus on the [American Evangelical] Third Wave practice of 'spiritual housekeeping," in which demons are removed from household objects which bind people to bad habits and inherited patterns of sin."
