UAlbany women headed back to the NCAA tournament
The UAlbany women's basketball team is headed back to the NCAA tournament for the fifth straight year after beating Maine 59-58 in the America East conference tournament final at SEFCU Arena Friday afternoon.
Shereesha Richards carried the Great Danes. The three-time conference player of the year scored 31 points on 11-18 shooting (9-10 from the FT line). Maine constantly tried to deny Richards the ball in the post, but she continually fought for position -- and when she got it there, they couldn't stop her.
UAlbany will find out its seed and matchup for the NCAA tournament Monday night when the brackets for women's tournament are announced.
