On the frequenting of tippling houses
As you probably heard, the governor and legislative leaders announced a deal this week on legislation that will allow restaurants and bars to start serving alcohol at 10 am (instead of noon) on Sundays. Over at the NYT, Sam Roberts traces the long history of New York's "Blue Laws" back to upstate Republican Protestants, Dutch burgomasters, and the Puritans.. [NYT]
