Pokestop History Tour in the Stockade

stockade lawrence pikachuThe Schenectady County Historical Society is putting together a combination Pokemon Go/Stockade history walking tour this evening, July 14. Blurbage

From fur trade post to pokestop! Hey, Pokemon Go players, we're playing too! Join us this Thursday evening ... for a massive Stockade takeover as we set lure modules, battle for gyms, complain about Drowzees, and explore, informally, the story behind all those pokestops!

The tour starts at 6 pm at the historical society's offices at 32 Washington Ave in Schenectady. It's free.

You don't say? The ONLY benefit I can see to this whole pokemon thing is that it gets people outside, walking and actually interacting with other people (of all the horrible things). Beyond that, the allure of this latest craze completely eludes me; I'll be the guy giving you that WTF look as you mindlessly chase 20 year old video game characters through the streets. Now get off my lawn.

I think thats great! if you can't beat em, join em!

Hopefully that makes you feel better about yourself -R
