There's something alien about thistles, like they're sea creatures from another planet that landed here -- beautiful in a strange way, but also dangerous.
(And they are aliens, in a sense. Thistle originated around the Mediterranean, and was introduced to North American in the 17th century.)
For a decade All Over Albany was a place for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. It was kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who could help you find out what's up. AOA stopped publishing at the end of 2018.
