Workplace gender equality town hall at The Linda
The New York Council for the Humanities has a town hall-style event about workplace gender equality lined up for The Linda in Albany July 26. Event blurbage:
What arguments have been advanced to keep women disadvantaged in the workplace? How have these arguments been overcome? What are the unique challenges women of color face in the workplace? What is the biggest obstacle for gender inequality in the workplace today? These and other questions will be address in this this two-part event. After a brief history of gender inequality in the workplace, panelists will discuss the systemic challenges women face today.
Before and after the discussion, attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about professional development opportunities and resources. Organizations from the Capital Region will share their resources and services such as workshops, scholarships, networking events, and more.
The panel includes author/activist/scholar (and Albany resident) Barbara Smith, UAlbany professor of sociology Karyn Loscocco, Mission Accomplished Transition Services CEO Carmen Duncan, and Allison Dunne, host of WAMC's 51%.
The event starts at 6 pm on Tuesday, July 26. It's free to attend, but an RSVP is requested.

So will there be any discussion on encouraging more men to get into healthcare, teaching? No, because this group has an agenda that is not based on equality. Women-dominated fields are just fine with them.
