Drawing: "Let's Get It On" beer/food event at City Beer Hall featuring Kent Falls and Grimm Artisanal

City Beer Hall exterior 2015-May

Drawing's closed! Winner's been emailed!

The City Beer Hall has an event coming up September 12 that's a different spin on a beer dinner: "Let's Get It On" will feature beers from Kent Falls Brewing Company and Grimm Artisanal Ales, a range of food stations and passed hors d'oeuvres, and R&B karaoke.

We have a pair of tickets to the party and we're giving them away. To enter, please answer this question in the comments:

What's something local that you're looking forward to eating or drinking this fall?

Could be a specific type of apple from a specific orchard. Could be a type of drink. Could be whatever. We'll draw one winner at random -- that person gets the pair of tickets.

The event at City Beer Hall is Monday, September 12 starting at 6 pm. Tickets are $65 each or two for $120. They include six beer pours, as well as food from the various stations and passed hors d'oeuvres (there's a menu after the jump if you're curious).

Kent Falls Brewing Company is a farm brewery in Connecticut (it grows its own hops), and Grimm Artisanal Ales is a "nomadic brewery" based in Brooklyn.

This is a 21-and-over event.

Important: All comments must be submitted by 11:59 pm on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 to be entered in the drawing. You must answer the question to be part of the drawing. (Normal commenting guidelines apply.) One entry per person, please. You must enter a valid email address (that you check regularly) with your comment. The winner will be notified via email by noon on Thursday and must respond by noon on Friday, September 9.

Something local that I'm looking forward to eating or drinking this fall is cider donuts!!!!

Brats at Wolffs during Oktoberfest

Cider doughnuts from Indian Ladder Farms

Druthers Okterberfest!

Cider Doughnuts from Lakeside (from the little truck outside that's always making them fresh).

Hard Cider and Pumpkin Pie.

I can't wait to have wings at McGeary's on Sundays with my fellow Buffalo Bills fans as part of the yearly tradition of disappointment at yet another year without a Super Bowl win. They are the closest thing to an actual wing from Buffalo that I've had here in the Capital Region.

The fellow fans, as always are the best part. RIP Byron, maybe this year will be the year (fingers crossed).

Looking forward to carving and eating local punkin' seeds!

Cider donuts! Cider donuts! Cider donuts!

Sure, with Cider Belly in town you can get great cider donuts any time of year. But there's just something special about getting one at an orchard, still warm from the fryer, with a cup of fresh-pressed cider alongside. Mmm.

After what seems to be a dearth of local apples available in the stores over the past few months (no doubt in part due to difficult storage in this hot and humid summer!), I am REALLY looking forward to getting some fresh, local apples!

Of course I'm looking forward to eating an apple picked fresh off a tree at Indian Ladder Farms.

Also, the butternut squash/black bean combo soup from Mexican Radio - it's fantastic.

That first fresh magical McIntosh apple!
They bite back!

Macs freshly picked at Indian Ladder Farms.

The pumpkin ale from Mad Jack Brewing at the Van Dyck in Schenectady!

Got to be Cider Donuts, but I'll go with pumpkin pie.

I'm looking forward to the Altamont Apple Fest where I will load up on NYS wines and plenty of cider donuts!

Hot chocolate during a Friday night high school football game. Always brings me back!

Butternut squash soup with veggies from the Denison Farm.

More cider donuts, and cider mimosas!!

Chalk me up for another vote towards Indian Ladder Farms' apple cider donuts!

Apple anything from local orchards.

Apples and other seasonal produce

Cider donuts from ILF and homemade apple pie w/ vanilla ice cream

Butternut Squash Soup and local pumpkin brews!

Golden Harvest's cider donuts... mmm!

Apples, apple cider, and cider donuts! And of course all of the baked goods I can make with my freshly picked apples!

Cider donuts and hot apple cider from Indian Ladders after a hike in Thacher Park.

I am looking forward to tea season!

The tears of my enemies after I hear the lamentations of their woman, by Krom's will.

Also, a handful of tasty items that if shared with you (and your readers) would become fodder for pieces that...eh, would probably irk me.

Crisp beer picking apples and cider donuts

Honeycrisp apples!

Cider donuts and fresh apple pie!

Macoun apples. They don't store so you can only get them in the fall

Roasted butternut squash and shallots from my garden, and apple crisp with granny smiths from my neighbors tree (with Greg's recipe for crisp topping)!

Golden Delicious apples from Indian Ladder Farms.

Pumpkin ice cream from Mac's in watervliet.

Cheesy, crusty, carb-y casseroles.

Looking forward to eating beef stew with locally farmed ingredients from Honest Weight (co-op) and drinking red wine and ginger cider from Nine Pin!

Singlecut Dean!

Crossroads' Dr. Loomis Pumpkin ale - so good.

Druthers Harvest Apple and Oktoberfest!

I've already got my ticket to this event, but I just wanted to answer the question.

Our family apple picking tradition brings us to Indian Ladder Farm. This fall I'm looking forward to that experience now including beer from the farm's new brewery!

Like Kent Falls, ILF grows its own hops too. So exciting.

Perogies and Kielbasa at Muza!

Spiced rum!

Cider donuts and chocolate milk!

I'm looking forward to Golden Harvest's cider donuts, Nine Pin's new hard cider flavors, and whatever flavors the Dutch Udder Craft Ice Cream Cart cooks up this fall. Yummm!!

Another vote for cider donuts from Indian Ladder Farms ... mmmmm . . .

apple pie and cider donuts and coffee always

I can't wait to bust out the Crockpot and make some chili! Nothing says fall like slow cooking, gluttony and football!

Pumpkin seeds and pumpkin beers, all the pumpkin!

I'm looking forward to the apple cider doughnuts at the Carrot Barn, a locally sourced produce store located in scenic Schoharie Valley. Antiquing and hiking in the area are also great!
I recommend hiking Vroman's Nose to get a bird's eye view of Schoharie Valley and the beautiful fall foliage, and once you've worked up an appetite stop at the Carrot Barn for a sandwich and a doughnut. Yum!

Cider donuts never fail.

Octoberfest beer and fresh roasted pumpkin seeds!

All the Oktoberfest beers!

cider donuts from samscott.

Whiskey barrel-aged beer from Adirondack Brewery!! Beer me!

Those cider donuts from Indian Ladder Farm tho

Hot Spiced Cider is always an Autumn favorite, especially paired with a pumpkin cookie with vanilla cream cheese frosting - perfect for an afternoon outside with a nice Fall breeze!

cider donuts for me, too.

All of it. I bombed my chances this summer of utilizing fresh local fruits and veggies as much as normal. I'm not letting that happen for the fall too. It's too good. So lots of cooking and baking. Local apples and cider donuts for sure.

Fresh warm cider donuts on a chilly morning.

Macouns from Indian Ladder. And Chinese food once the frost hits and I am no longer contractually obligated to Eat From My Garden.

Hot Toddy's

A Hot Toddy from The Olde English

fresh post-frost brussels sprouts!

definitely cider and cider donuts from ILF.
