Drawing: Albany Barn Fusion 2016

Drawing's closed! Winner's been emailed!

The Albany Barn's annual Fusion event -- exploring "the intersection of art and industry" -- is October 14 this year. And we have a pair of "catalyst" tickets to give away. Maybe to you.

To enter the drawing, please answer this question in the comments:

What are two Capital Region things that should be combined -- and what would they create?

We've asked a similar drawing question in the past and gotten fun answers. It could be anything -- two geographic areas of the region, a drink from one place and a food item from another, whatever. Be creative. We'll pick one winner at random.

Here's what's lined up for Fusion this year:

+ custom menu by Chef Michelle Hines Abram with special guests Chef Derek Adams and Chef Benji Blanco
+ wine and craft beverage pairings from Empire Wine & Druthers Brewing Co.
+ decadent coffee and desserts by The Cookie Factory
+ musical selections to keep you moving
+ live art installations and exhibition featuring artists in residence
+ silent auction and more!

And with the "catalyst" tickets, you'll also get reserved parking and commemorative Albany Barn glassware with a signature cocktail.

Fusion is Friday, October 14 starting at 6 pm at the Albany Barn. Tickets are $75 each / catalyst tickets are $125 ($200 for two) -- and they're available online.

The event is a fundraiser for the Albany Barn.

Important: All comments must be submitted by 5 pm on Monday, October 3, 2016 to be entered in the drawing. You must answer the question to be part of the drawing. (Normal commenting guidelines apply.) One entry per person, please. You must enter a valid email address (that you check regularly) with your comment. The winner will be notified via email by noon am on Tuesday and must respond by noon on Wednesday, October 5.

AOA is a media sponsor of Fusion.

A summer bicycle ride to Lake George and a swim at the Million Dollar Beach.

Climbing a fire tower and taking in the view with my girlfriend who is (was) afraid of heights.

It created a fire tower climbing monster and it's awesome!

I'd combine the apple cider donuts from Golden Harvest Farm with the original tart froyo from Ayelada to create fall's best creation, having a taste of both worlds

Nine Pin Cider & any Adirondacks mountain - at the top of every mountain climbed could be a free Nine Pin to enjoy for your efforts. That would be such a win!

Park Playhouse & Capital Rep ,,, for year long theatre

All Over Albany **CUPCAKES** & my MOUTH!!!

Delicious cookie shots like the one offered by Dominique Ansel, but making it more local - delicious cookie from a place like Sweet Sue's in Troy, combined with Battenkill Valley Creamery milk

hmm. How about state government and oversight? Those two things don't seem to go together now, but I sure think they should!

the 518 and 838. But we know that's just a matter of time.

Downtown Troy + Lark Street = Awesome place for dinner and a night out!

El Loco & El Mariachi - so that I would no longer have to choose between El Loco's margaritas and El Mariachi's chips & salsa when going out for Mexican!

The Albany food and wine fest with son type of entertainment. And maybe seating? Please?

Pretty much any restaurant or brewery + uber, so that we can actually go out without worrying about driving but still be able to get to our place in the suburbs after. Something I definitely miss about other cities/states I've lived in or visited!

I want to combine the funky artsy shops in Lake Placid, with the gorgeous mountain views and beautiful, clear Mirror Lake swimming opportunities in Lake Placid. Or I just want Lake Placid to be closer. And it wouldn't hurt to put downtown Troy on Lark St. My husband and I are always wondering if Lark Street has gone downhill or if we just got too old to enjoy it? It's so close, but so far from what I want to do with my night...

Park playhouse and Tulip festival

The Lakehouse In Washington park with an ice skating and boating venue that has casual fare by day with amazing local food and drink restaraunt by night.

The NYS Museum + Gala event (example, Beaujolais Nouveau, Drink Albany, etc.) = a night surrounded with history, entertainment, food, and drink; all supporting local businesses and artisans in the capital region.

The City of Troy combined with more events at Prospect Park to create a city that utilizes it's park space more!

DeFazio's pizza + The Ruck's wings= another 20lbs for me to lose. :)

The Scoop

For a decade All Over Albany was a place for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. It was kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who could help you find out what's up. AOA stopped publishing at the end of 2018.

Albany tightened its rules for shoveling snowy sidewalks last winter -- so how'd that work out?
