"He never had it so good"

Over at Politico, Jimmy Vielkind looks at how the results of the presidential election could lead to a more prominent role for Andrew Cuomo nationally among Democrats. "Clinton's unexpected defeat will hit the reset button within the national Democratic Party in a way that puts Cuomo, a self-styled centrist and populist Democrat, in the mix for 2020."

(Though if we had to bet on a current New York politician becoming a national figure and possible presidential candidate, we'd probably put our money on Kirsten Gillibrand.)

Andrew Cuomo is sort of the Democratic version of Trump- a self-interested street fighter who is not afraid to throw elbows and fight dirty to win.

Normally Democrats would like someone with apparently higher principles, but maybe Cuomo is just the antidote to Trump that the Democrats need. He is a Centrist and Populist who can fight Trump toe to toe. Cuomo is positioned to steal some of Trumps issues while adding the more popular traditional Democratic positions.

While Cuomo lacks the eloquence of his Father, poetry in politics these days means a lot less than a candidates fighting capacity.

I expect that many Democrats will spend the next several years actively fighting Trump and his Regime. Andrew Cuomo can help lead that fight from the Blue State stronghold of New York. Cuomo is in a strong position for 2020, and that fight began the day after the election.

My money is on Tracy Flick (as Kirsten Gillibrand is known to her congressional peers). Flick 2020.

Please can we just stop with the political posturing for a brief moment. I can't take it anymore! Both of these political figures along with the media outlet who is putting them forward have just been proven to be completely out of touch with the american voters. Coumo and Gillabrand are the jv team for what the voters have just repudiated. The Democrtic party establishment has sold its soul for privilege and the pillaging of its own base of support. We the middle/working class people who don't get plum jobs because of daddy or grampas connections are not going to fall for a younger version of the same thing. Sorry for the ineloquent rant, Happy Veterans Day!

The Scoop

For a decade All Over Albany was a place for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. It was kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who could help you find out what's up. AOA stopped publishing at the end of 2018.
