Santa Speedo Sprint 2016 photos

santa speedo sprint 2016 key

The annual Albany Santa Speedo Sprint was Saturday afternoon on Lark Street. For the 11th year, a bunch of scantily-clad people dashed 800 meters through the wintry air for charity.

The sprint is always one of the most fun events of year, with lots of smiles and cheering. It's organized by the Albany Society for the Advancement of Philanthropy, with the Albany All Stars Roller Derby, and is a fundraiser for the Albany Damien Center and the HIV/AIDS program at the Albany Medical Center.

Here are a ton of photos from this year

Shame there was no Larkasaurus Rex or even a Larkness Monster.

Sad to miss this due to a family illness, but it looks like a really great race this year! It's one of the best things about living close to Lark Street.

Anybody who says Albany isn't a fun town full of fun people is santa crazy.

Much, Much improved over the movie theatre idea...reallly embraces Troy as a residential city. Keep the tower tall---troy needs the tax dollars, it adds to the skyline. Access and development of the waterfront was well done. And returning Hudson River Sloops--nice touch, reminds me of the learn to sail places along the Charles in boston. This is a plan worthy of public investment. Let's not make perfect the enemy of the good.

Thank you
