Drawing: Chatham Brewing 10th anniversary party VIP tickets

Chatham Brewing exterior

Drawing's closed!

Chatham Brewing has its 10th anniversary party this Saturday, March 4 from noon-11 pm at its brewery on Main Street in (where else) Chatham. We have a pair of VIP tickets for celebration and we're giving them away.

To enter the drawing, please answer this question in the comments:

Chatham Brewing is located in the bustling little village of Chatham in Columbia County. What's your favorite small town or village around the region? Why?

Maybe it's an actual small village or town that you love to visit (or where you live). But feel free to interpret the idea broadly -- maybe it's a village-like neighborhood within a city or something like that. We'll draw one comment at random and that person gets the pair of tickets.

VIP tickets for the Chatham Brewing anniversary party are $25 and available online. The ticket gets you access to a VIP happy hour (noon to 2 pm) with specialty anniversary beers and tastings from Nine Pin Cider Works, Hillrock Estate Distillery, and Chatham-Hudson Winery inside the brewery, along with a commemorative anniversary glass.

General admission to the celebration is free (registration required). There will be music, food specials, life-sized jenga, and other games.

Important: All comments must be submitted by noon on Friday, March 3, 2017 to be entered in the drawing. You must answer the question to be part of the drawing. (Normal commenting guidelines apply.) One entry per person, please. You must enter a valid email address (that you check regularly) with your comment. The winner will be notified via email by 1 pm Friday and must respond by 5 pm that same day.

Geneseo, NY, where I went to college. Great little town. The people there were extremely welcoming. Have gone back many times to visit.

My fiance and I went down to Hudson for the first time last summer and we both fell in love! Endless antique stores, where each shops inventory was different from the last, and great food. The sidewalks were full of people all looking to enjoy a carefree Saturday afternoon. I highly recommend it!

Jeez...there are so many choices. Chatham is a good start. Delmar, BSpa...hmm, Bennington? A little more in the mountains...Woodstock maybe, Bolton Landing. Further abroad...Schroon Lake, Manchester, Lake Placid, Sacketts Harbor.... How are we defining the region again? How many choices are we allowed? ... I give up.

I love exploring my way through all of Rensselaer County's small towns. Now that S&S has expanded their tasting room, Nassau is becoming an especially hopping place to visit on a weekend night!

Interpreting region fairly liberally/expansively, I think I'd have to go with the Village of Pittsford near Rochester. Between the canal, the shops, restaurants and bars, it's a great place to spend an afternoon.

If you haven't heard of it, I like Brunswick. The bumper to bumper traffic on Route 7 allows you to really enjoy the retail (we have a Walmart) and restaurant (McDonalds, Burger King, and Dunkin Donuts within a quarter mile of each other.) spaces.

I really do love Brunswick. I love the town beach in the summer. I love running past farms and land that has started to return to nature. No, we don't have the fancy stuff like Chatham (they have the movie theater...) but it is nice. My neighbors and neighborhood is great and yet I am still close enough to walk to Downtown Troy.

I actually really like Chatham. I grew up in Nassau and me and my family used to go to the Chatham Fair and the Crandell Theatre when I was little. I would love getting soda out of their old school self serve soda machine with crushed ice. More recently I worked traveling around Columbia County and would go to the bagel cafe, bread alone, and Destinos. I would love to try out the brewery, I've heard good things! The ride out there is always lovely too.

Wow, A lot of good places listed, Sacketts Harbor, Pittsford, Chatham, Hudson all great. My favorite local is Troy, much to like, Farmers Market, RPI, all the food and soon the Theater district.

I love Hudson, all the shops, the river and a train station.

There are so many great little villages and towns in the area to visit. The one that is on my mind at this moment is Hudson. It has a great vibe with a bunch of cool shops and restaurants.

A great main street is a place where residents and visitors mingle harmoniously. A place where everyone knows your name, or if not, they they pretend they do. A place where every storefront is different from the next and is certainly different from the storefronts in the next town over. A place where downtown rolls into scenic landscapes.

I have described Chatham. But, equally charming to Chatham is the handsome town of Rhidebeck, a hop skip and a jump from the Hudson River. This town features a top-notch bookstore, artists, chefs recently graduated from the Culinary Institute, lifelong locals mingling easily with visitors from both New York & New England, and most of all a welcoming spirit.

I nominate Rhinebeck as my favorite town in the region.

I have to say that I really love Troy! There are so many unique shops, bars, and restaurants, as well as artsy spaces and community programs. Favorite spots include Peck's, Lucas Confectionary, Bacchus, Slidin' Dirty... the list goes on. Plus, the farmer's market!

Troy is also abundant with services for its community, especially for those who are living in poverty. As a social worker, I was really pleased with the variety of services when I assisted homeless families access housing and support in Troy. While there could certainly be more affordable housing options, I still feel like Troy is a connected community that looks out for one another as best as possible.

I have to affirm that Hudson is a pretty cool small town. I love the restaurants, the breweries, the antique stores and the bar/bookstore. Great place to hang out.

Altamont is a pretty quaint little town.

Kinderhook -- Main St looks like you've gone back in time.

I really love wandering around Hudson, especially on their Farmer's Market day - great places for coffee and a snack, people watching and interesting shops. Lots of people don't realize the riverfront park is available. Lovely for a summer evening!

I'm a fan of Kinderhook, also in Columbia County. Beautiful homes along route 9, quaint, old time feel.

Kinderhook is a great small town and full of history!

Gonna have to go with Athens! There's a lot more to this town than meets the eye.

Crossroads Brewery has some of the best beer in Greene County and there are new restaurants/cafes opening up this year.

In the summer, there is live music by the amazing waterfront and the whole place seems to come alive.

My wife and I recently lucked out and bought a house right in the heart of the village.

Chatham, when we were picking a new place to raise the family, we fell in love with Chatham. Now that it has a great little brewery, I'm never leaving.........
