The Siena men, and UAlbany men and women, are all close to grabbing a spot in the NCAA basketball tournament this week...

Siena men
The Siena men's basketball team plays for a spot in the NCAA tournament Monday night at the TU Center in the final of the MAAC tournament. The Saints face Iona at 9 pm. Tickets are $18.50 and up.

Siena got to this spot thanks to a huge 17-point comeback win against #1 seed Monmouth on Sunday. In that game Nico Clareth wrote a line for himself into Siena basketball lore with 27 points -- all in the second half.

Monday's night's conference final will also be on ESPN2.

UAlbany men
The UAlbany men are at Stony Brook Monday night in the semifinals of the America East tournament. The game is at 7:30 pm and you can watch on ESPN3.

If the Great Danes win, they'll play for a spot in the NCAA tournament next Saturday, March 11 at 11 am. The game could be at SEFCU Arena if New Hampshire manages to knock off tournament #1 seed Vermont in the other semifinal tonight.

UAlbany women
The UAlbany women's team will play for a spot in the NCAA tournament this Friday at SEFCU Arena against Maine. The game is at 4:30 pm and tickets are $25. (The game will also be on ESPNU.)

The #2 seeded Great Danes edged out Hartford 67-65 on Sunday to advance to the final. Maine, the #4 seed, beat #1 seed New Hampshire.

If the UAlbany wins, it will be headed back to the NCAA tournament for the sixth straight year.

Friday's game will also be the last time Imani Tate, one of the program's all-time best, will be playing at home.

The Scoop

For a decade All Over Albany was a place for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. It was kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who could help you find out what's up. AOA stopped publishing at the end of 2018.
