"People only defeat Trumpism if everyone uses their voices on whatever platform they have available to them."

Over at New York Magazine, there's a big profile of Kirsten Gillibrand by Rebecca Traister that touches on KG's opposition to many of the Trump administration cabinet picks, her bipartisan work in the Senate, the evolution of her stances on various issues, stress dreams about buying Girl Scout cookies, and yep, running for president. Also, Gillibrand on the point of being in office: "[W]e're here to help people, and if we're not helping people, we should go the fuck home." [NY Mag]

Go home!

Go Kirsten! Great US Senator.

It's pretty scary how our chosen ones are so transparent in their buildup to power, laying the groundwork with the help of their friends in media. Help the people or go home? Are those people the many relatives/friends currently in elected office or sitting in plum state, county, local jobs. Are those people the former colleagues at Davis Polk, Goldman Sachs law firm. Or dads ex girlfriend you know the VP at Disney. You don't get to be KG without selling your soul. Spare the people the BS.

I love that New York State has two excellent U.S. Senators: Kirsten Gillibrand and Chuck Schumer.

(As an aside, if they irritate conservatives and libertarians, I can rest assured they're doing a good job.)

Yeah two excellent senators from NY state....they do soooo much for the upstate area.......almost as much as our last great NY state senator from the great state of Arkansas....oh I'm so irate! I have been to the post office named by her though....

The Scoop

For a decade All Over Albany was a place for interested and interesting people in New York's Capital Region. It was kind of like having a smart, savvy friend who could help you find out what's up. AOA stopped publishing at the end of 2018.
