Sylvan Esso at Lucky Strike

the band Sylvan Esso

Amelia Meath and Nick Sanborn

The indie pop duo Sylvan Esso is set for a show in Lucky Strike's Jupiter Hall May 24. Tickets go on sale this Friday -- they're $24.

The band has a new album coming out later this month. Here's a video for "Die Young," one of the songs off the album. (And here's an NPR Tiny Desk concert.)

The opener is Lucy Dacus.

The stop here in town is one of Sylvan Esso's last few before heading over to tour in Europe. A bunch of the US dates have already sold out. Jupiter Hall holds about 600 people.

As much as I feel that seeing a show in a mall is strange and depressing, I had a chance to see Jupiter Hall (empty) recently and was impressed. This is no Upstate Concert Hellhole. If they can get talent like Syvan Esso, sign me up.

The second: treat everyone else with the same respect you'd like to see in return. Cool? Great, post away. Comments are moderated so it might take a little while for your comment to show up. Thanks for being patient.

... The theft itself of this important Native American artifact is an important part of its story. It's really a miracle that almost 70 years later that the Cornplanter pipe tomahawk ended up back at the State Museum, instead of remaining in someone's secret, private collection acquired illicitly, or even worse, not cared for professionally and therefore damaged, destroyed, or lost forever.
