An eye on surveillance

Something to think about Albany moves toward rolling out body cameras for its police department: At The Verge there's a look at how various cities around the nation are setting oversight rules for when and how police departments can acquire new surveillance technology. For example: Should a department that has body cameras be allowed to start using facial recognition tech alongside those cameras without some sort of public OK? (That specific question came up during the last Albany public meeting about body cameras). [The Verge]
