Man who accidentally shot himself sentenced
A Schenectady man who accidentally shot himself was sentenced to 63 months in prison for illegally having a handgun, ammunition and crack cocaine. The federal court judge who sentenced Edwin Ferrer said the sentence would have been longer, had Ferrer not suffered a near death experience, and told him "If inadvertently killing yourself doesn't make you turn yourself around, I don't know what will."
