The New York Times hops on the gondola storyline (departing every 10 minutes!), looking at potential projects around the country, including the proposed Albany-Rensselaer gondola. The ridership number mentioned in the NYT article for the project here -- 3,000 per hour -- is, um, optimistic. (Though we wonder if that number is the upper-end capacity and not the projected ridership.) [NYT]
