Drawing: Beer dinner at City Beer Hall

City Beer Hall exterior 2015-May

Drawing's closed! Winner's been emailed!

The City Beer Hall has a special dinner lined up for next Monday featuring beers from Common Roots Brewing and Peekskill Brewery (like bookends on the Hudson Valley). Five beers paired with five courses. And we have a pair of tickets to give away -- maybe to you.

To enter the drawing, please answer this question in the comments:

What's something local that you want to make sure to do before summer is over?

It could a day trip. It could be eating a specific ice cream. It could be doing nothing at all. We'll draw one comment at random -- that person gets the pair of tickets.

The beer dinner at the City Beer is Monday, August 28 at 6 pm. Tickets are $65 each and available online. It's a 21 and over event.

Important: All comments must be submitted by noon on Thursday, August 24, 2017 to be entered in the drawing. You must be 21 to enter. You must answer the question to be part of the drawing. (Normal commenting guidelines apply.) One entry per person, please. You must enter a valid email address (that you check regularly) with your comment. The winner will be notified via email by 5 pm on Thursday and must respond by noon on Friday.

Go to a Valley Cats game with the family. We do it every year...

Pick blueberries at our secret spot in Grafton!

Hit up Jumpin' Jacks to sit on the river with a jackburger and onion rings.

I'd like to sit out on the beer hall patio at night to have a few beers.

Take a boat out on a lake!

Eat Guptill's ice cream

Need to still catch a Valley Cats game!

Must get to the Wild Center!

I'd like to check out the new Thacher Park Center.

Bike to Troy and go to the farmer's market!

I still need to make it up to the track this summer!

Have a picnic in the Catskills.

A night out on lark street.

Jumpin' Jacks!

Smallmouth fishing in the Adirondacks. I need to catch a big one before I can say this has been a real summer!

Get a job.

Scare some friends by bringing them to the Clarksville Caves.

Get to Kay's for pizza

Can salsa while drinking some amazing beers!

Taking in a movie (or a double feature) at the Jericho Drive-In.

I still have not been to the Snowman in Troy. Not ever. Must make it tbefore the summer ends.

Go swimming (again) in Albany's outdoor Lincoln Pool - and its huge and its free!

Hit the beach long enough to get rid of this vampire paleness. Sacandaga Lake or Lake George, either way.

Take pictures of the Nipper statues

grab a drink and a sunset at Saratoga lake.

Take the kids to Huck Finn's Playland & then head on over to Druthers afterwards for dinner!

Rollerblade on the bike path!

I want to catch a flick with my family at the Hollywood Drive-In :)

Day trip to Cooperstown to visit the Fenimore and have a tasting at Ommegang

Check out at least one local fair and go to Kurver Kreme and get a chocolate vanilla swirl on a waffle cone. Summer isn't over until I get a waffle cone.

5 beers with 5 courses at CBH!!!

head to a valley cats game!

Bring my daughter to the Great Escape.

One more outing for ice cream at Snowman in Troy. There's a special camaraderie in waiting in a long, slinking line in the fading heat of a summer night. Craning your neck for a glimpse at what everyone else chose. The narrowing-down of choices as you wait, only to second guess your decision when the time comes! Ice cream builds community.

Hopefully camping, we have been busy every weekend though so far.

We would like to have dinner at Tara Kitchen in Troy.

Hike Allen Mountain for my 46th high peak and celebrate at Paradox Brewery or Common Roots on the drive back.

Go tubing in Lake Luzerne!

LarkFest

I want to visit all the Nipper statues in Albany.

Friday night cookout at Cheese Traveler

Go to the track!

Head up to SPAC for a show.

Gotta get to Jumpin' Jacks for a burger and some soft serve!

Check out the beer garden at The Hill at Muza. I've only heard amazing things!

Have a picnic in Washington Park!

Have a few drinks at Olde English's awesome patio!

Go to The Dutch Udder

Kayaking to Lake Local for a pint of a summer beer and having as many more outdoor meals as I can while the days are still warm and long(ish). Sigh.

Get to the Track!

Spend a day at the Saratoga Flat Track

Take a trip up to the Snowman for ice cream. It's on my list every year and still haven't done it.

Enjoying a beer outside at Paradox Brewery

Enjoy as many patio happy-hours as possible.

I want to do more hiking!!!

Go to Cooperstown, visit the General Store for some fun and weirdness, and go on the beer trail there.

Also, fall asleep on the lawn after a picnic at Tanglewood.

tubing on the Battenkill!

Soak up as many days as I can of evening sunlight and porch-sitting time.

Make a trip to a local beach... either Lake George or Grafton!

Visit Thatcher Park and walk the Indian Ladder trail.

Do goat yoga!

Kay's Pizza

I would like to find all 20 of the cute Nippers downtown.

Spend the afternoon at Thacher State Park!

Kayaking Indian Lake

Haven't gotten up to the track yet. Need to get on it soon.

I saw a FB sponsored ad that had a photo of City Beer Hall's patio, it's come a long way since I've been! Would love to hit that up while it's nice out.

Get a Jack Burger at Jumpin Jacks!

Go to the drive-ins at Malta and eat fried Oreos :)

Float down the Batten Kill!

Go to the drive-in movies!

Take a nice walk all about the city to enjoy the weather before before fall hits

Go to a Yankees game

Hit as many of the awesome Cap region ice cream places as possible!

I want to stop in at Duck Pond Farms on SR 20 near Altamont, while they're still open for the season. Their ice cream is made fresh on the farm and is some of the the best I've ever had.

I'd like to get at least one more hike in before the summer ends (though fall hiking is fun, too). A trip to the Great Escape would be fun, too, but I guess we'll see if that comes together.

Visit Thacher Park and check out the new visitors center!
